Steve Stred Reviews Jagged Edges & Moving Parts

Writer's picture: Pete MeslingPete Mesling

Since author Steve Stred is Canadian and his review of my horror collection isn't viewable on the American Amazon page, I thought it might be worth sharing a link to where it lives on his blog. To have a look, please click on the image below (or here).

Another reason I feel like highlighting Steve's review is that it perceptively calls out the overall brevity of the stories in Jagged Edges & Moving Parts. Although he cites this as a shortcoming, it was intentional on my part to include only stories under 5,000 words in length (by a considerable margin in some instances). This won't be the case with the crime collection I'll have out next year, but in Jagged Edges I wanted to to give readers a sense of jumping from stone to stone as they cross a swiftly flowing river. My apologies if this causes you to slip into the drink. That's on me.

One last thing before I let you go: Steve pulls out a few favorites from Jagged Edges & Moving Parts. I have to admit that I love hearing which stories strike a chord with readers. I've been getting enough feedback of this kind to see that there isn't a lot of consensus, which I think is wonderful. So please, feel free to drop me a line to let me know your thoughts about a particular story, or my writing in general.

Until next time ...
